Ana Mercedes Atarama , 65, of Fort Wayne, went Home to her Lord at 10:50 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at her home in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Atarama was born on July 9, 1946 in Piura, Peru, a daughter of Felix and Mercedes (Leon) Aponte.
She was married to Duilio Victor Atarama, in 1971 and moved from Peru to Fort Wayne where she had lived since 1994.
When she was asked what would be the first thing she would do in heaven she responded “I will kneel and kiss my Lord Jesus’ feet and thank Him for everything. Then I will ask Him to dance with me.” Her joyful soul transformed many lives. Her victorious spirit taught us to never give up, and her love for Jesus moved us to follow her as she followed Christ. Let us remember her by reciting, “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
The surviving relatives include her husband of 42 years Duilio Victor Atarama; children – Annie (Brett) Sauder of Berne, IN; Susana (Dennys) Castellanos of Mason, OH; Duilio (Denise) Atarama of Cincinnati, OH, Jorge (Dana) Atarama of RAF Lakenheath, UK the United States Air Force; Jannett (Eri) Hernandez of Middletown, OH; Mildred (Arturo) Lopez of Fort Wayne, IN; Francisco (Nawphyu) Bolivar of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters – Teodora Aponte Leon, Teresa Aponte de Ibañez, and Yolanda Aponte de Balarezo; brothers – Ventura Aponte Leon and Gregorio Aponte Leon; grandchildren - Salma Arabella and Isaiah William Sauder; Dennys Josue Castellanos; Victoria Isabella Atarama; Emalyn Grace Atarama; Bryan Martin, Roger Ronald, and Erick Andrew Mills; Gabriel, Daniel and Esther Maria Lopez.

Strength comes from the Lord. Ana is dancing in heaven at the throne of grace. We can see her bright smile and hear her praises to our God and King. She is truly home and healed. May Jesus comfort all of you as you remember Ana, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. We are with you in spirit and will be praising God for her life on Friday as you celebrate her life. May God sustain all of you during these days of joy and tears.
Blessings,
Charlie and Gail Packard

To Ana’s family, Dale and I consider ourselves as blessed to have known your dear mother. She was always sweet, kind and witnessing about her savior. You could see the light of Christ in her eyes whenever she spoke of Him. I cannot imagine her being any happier than she is right now. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you for some time to come. We are always here if and when you need us and will try to make it to one of the services. We love you all, Dale and Karla Tolbert
