Barbara E. Mascho

Barbara E. Mascho, 67, a resident of rural Churubusco, died at 10:15 p. m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She had been in declining health since Christmas, had entered the hospital on Monday.

Mrs. Mascho was born on August 20, 1940 in Steinhatchee, Florida, a daughter of David Franklin and Bessie Mae (Stephens) Gentry. As an adult she moved to Fort Wayne, and had lived at her home north of Churubusco since 1987.

She had retired from Raytheon (formerly Magnavox) after 30 years.

Her marriage took place in Kingsland, Georgia on July 8, 1975 to Gerald A. “Jerry” Mascho. He survives.

Also surviving is her daughter Jana Vachon of Churubusco; a son Marty (Alicia) Peacock of Monroeville; five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

At the request of the family, there will be private family services at a later date.

Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco is in charge of the arrangements.

For those who wish, memorials may be directed to Mrs. Mascho’s great-grandchildren’s educational fund.

    My daughter is Samantha Fulk who is good friends with Destiny. I am so saddened by the news of Barb’s passing. She took such good care of Destiny and Destiny loved her so much. Barb was a sweet lady and she will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Destiny and the entire family.

    Jana and Marty, I have just learned of Mom’s passing. It is Xmas Eve and I don’t know what to say except the missing of her is different now than before. I wish you both well and hope you allow a slight update on survivors….

    A son, David Peacock and wife, Wendy, and 2 grandchildren Alex 13 and Sara 10 survive her in Marion, Ark.
