For the family of Fred Meyer, Dear Lynette, and family; Please accept my deepest condolences for your great loss. Fred was a wonderful, kind and a loving gentleman. I loved him like a father. I
grew up with his girls, Tammy, Tonya and Tina.
Tammy was also my maid of honor in my wedding.

I am proud to say I knew Fred Meyer. And eventually as my “DAD”. And at one point I was overwhelmed when he called me his son! Have never forgotten this. What an honor. He was a great great man. A man of few words, but the few words were true. However, some times we would sit and talk for hours on end. On the lake, in the garage while cleaning fish,( i acted like i enjoyed fishing) in front of the house in the cool fall time breeze. Sometimes I would have something to say, he would listen, never judged me. Sometimes he had something to say. I was always ready to listen to him.
He never talked about anybody or anyone in particular, mostly about his motorcycle, truck, the Army. the weather or a current event. He rarely ,that I can remember, after 20 years of knowing him ever have an ill word to say about anybody.
He was a leader and a doer. Fred was the kind of Father that any man would be proud to pattern his life after. He loved like no other man I knew. He loved his wife, Lynn, he loved his children, all of them, and all of his grand children. When you remember Fred Meyer, remember him for his sense of humor, counselour ways,and his way of always trying to Do unto others as he would have them do unto him, without judging anyone.
He lived just that. Take some time and get to really know him. Ask anybody about him, have them tell what they liked and admired most about one of the greatest men that EVER walked among us.
Encourage your sons to be more like him and your sons’ life and their sons lives will be changed for the better for ever.
Fred leaves behind a legacy to which any family that would like to be a better family should take note. His family now has had and will always have Fred in them as their Dad, Father, Husband and friend.
If you were lucky enough to know him and be a friend to you. You had a friend for life.
I heard “Daddys Hands” was played in his honor. WOW What a song for Ferdinand A Meyer!!
