Genevieve “Ginny” G. Anderson 1916 – 2012

Genevieve “Ginny” G. Anderson, 95, a resident of rural Churubusco in Allen County and widow of Harold G. “Hap” Anderson, passed away at 6:56 p. m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2011, at the Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She had been in failing health, and was taken to the hospital from her home on Saturday.
Mrs. Anderson was born on June 24, 1916 in Noble County, a daughter of Frank and Ethel Mae (Grim) Garrison. She spent her formative years north of Churubusco, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1935.
On April 5, 1941 she was married to Harold G. “Hap” Anderson. She was a homemaker, and a lifelong resident of the Churubusco-area. She loved her flower gardens, and most especially loved and cherished her family.
Mr. Anderson preceded her in death on October 27, 2008.
The surviving relatives include her children Glen “John” (Mid) Anderson of Churubusco, Judy Owen of Albion, and Harold Junior (Nancy) Anderson of Churubusco; five sisters Virginia Fulk, Wiladene Shively, and Eva (Gordon) Gilbert, all of Churubusco, and Neva (Herbert) Gaff and Shirley Coe, both of Albion; ten grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter Julia “Julie” Anderson on June 11, 1967; two brothers Ralph Garrison and Walter Garrison; a sister Elsie Mae Garrison; and by a son-in-law Chuck Owen.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Whitley County EMS Medic 21, Churubusco.
