John, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. I would have attended services, but did not learn of your father’s passing until I returned from my own father’s funeral last week.

To the entire Fletter family. I am at a particular low today as I read the Notice of Jack’s death. During my early youth on Fairfax Avenue, at times the only constant thing in my life that I could depend on, was your family. How much I wished your Dad was mine. He was always there for you kids and I so longed for that kind of connection with my own family. You must be heartbroken at his passing. Know that a lot of us outside the circle of your family are as heartbroken, for the world has lost a person who was looked up to for many years as a surrogate parent, by three little girls across the street.

Dear Bruce and Diane: We were saddened to hear of your father’s passing. What a faithful man of work to be enployed 43 years with the same company. I am sure he was a great father as well! He has an awesome son in you Bruce and you and I both know from our many years of working with young people the nut doesn’t fall too far from the tree! Tells me your dad was cool. Sorry we are out of town but you are in our thoughts and prayers. Don
