Josephine I. Fudge: 1920 – 2009
Josephine I. Fudge, 88, a resident of Lake Township in Allen County and wife of Robert A. Fudge, died at 6:42 a. m. on Friday, March 13, 2009, at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Fort Wayne. Although she had been in failing health for some time, her death was unexpected.
Mrs. Fudge was born on May 12, 1920 in Allen County, a daughter of George and Jennie (Smith) Fritz, and was united in marriage on June 20, 1941 to Robert A. Fudge. The couple have lived at their home in Lake Township since 1947.
A homemaker, she loved gardening, going fishing with her husband, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church–Lake Twp.
The surviving relatives include her husband Robert; a son Dennis (Toni) Fudge of Roanoke; two sisters Frances Stuckey of Fort Wayne and Adeline (Harry) Thompson of Cedarville; two grandsons Jeremy Fudge and Brad (Melissa) Fudge; a great-granddaughter Jocelynn Fudge; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Laura LaFevor; and by a brother Saben Fritz.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. on Monday, March 16, at St. John’s Lutheran Church–Lake Twp., 7314 W. Cook Road, with Pastor Ralph Easterhaus, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Sunday from 2 to 7 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church–Lake Twp. Building Fund.
