Lynn I. Bair: 1936 – 2009
Lynn I. Bair, 73, a resident of rural Churubusco, died peacefully at 11:38 p. m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at the family residence in Smith Township.
Mr. Bair was born in Noble County on November 8, 1936, a son of Ebony and Ada (Haney) Bair, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1954. On December 31 of that year he was married to Anita C. Shively, and spent his adult life in Smith Township in Whitley County.
Employed at International Harvester in Fort Wayne for 30 years, he retired from there in 1985. He later worked as a truck driver for Egolf Grain Company, and more recently worked as a driver for the Indiana Auto Auction in Fort Wayne.
He was a member and elder of the Sugar Grove Church of God, north of Churubusco. A dedicated family man, he especially enjoyed attending and supporting his grandchildren’s sporting activities.
The surviving relatives include his wife Anita; five daughters Debra (Ben) Lowe of Queen Creek, Ariz., Shelly Lybarger of Churubusco, Terri (Ron) Skinner of Albion, Susie (Kevin) Teague of Churubusco, and Amy (Charlie) Vice of Albion; two sisters Nora Jane Bair and Mary Lois Edwards, both of Albion; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Ralph Bair and Paul Bair; a sister Pauline Delanoy; a grandson Andy Vice; and a great-grandson Jacob Teague.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the Sugar Grove Church of God with Pastor Timothy Grable, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Friday from 2 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.

Our sympathies are extended to the family of Lynn Bair. He and I were former employees at International Trucks in Fort Wayne. Lynn was a good example of a Christian person, and he was a very nice fellow.

As you go through this difficult time in your lives, you need to draw your strength from the Heavenly Father. God is an Awesome God and He can do all things, no matter how great or small. I was so shocked to hear of Lynn’s untimely death. Your family has certainly had more than anyone should have to bear. My heart and prayers go out to all of you. Lynn was a great guy and always had a cute smile that I will never forget. I will continue to keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
