Marvin J. Stauffer: 1942 – 2009
Marvin J. Stauffer, 67, a resident of Churubusco, died unexpectedly at 10:20 p. m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at the family residence after collapsing from the results of an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Stauffer was born near Grabill on May 30, 1942, a son of Roy William and Lillian Amelia [Hollinger] Stauffer, and spent his formative years on the family farm there. On April 15, 1960 he was married to Lois A. Griggs, and moved to Churubusco from Grabill in 1967. She preceded him in death on November 10, 1968.
He was the owner and operator of Marv’s Paint Shop in Churubusco for 23 years, and retired in 2007 as a press operator for Federal Mogul in Avilla after 15 years. He had a natural aptitude for mechanics and for building things, and especially enjoyed John Deer farm equipment. He attended the Broadway Christian Church in Fort Wayne.
He was married in Fort Wayne on December 20, 1986 to Linda [Hinkson] Scott. She survives.
Also surviving are his children Billy Douglas Stauffer of Fort Wayne, Cheri ["Spider"] Edgar of St. Joe, Chester Roy [Debbie] Stauffer of Churubusco, Colleen R. [Dan] Doberstein of South Whitley, Curtis W. [Dawn] Stauffer of Churubusco, Kristi N. [Doug] Tester of Huntertown, James Marvin Stauffer of Churubusco, John E. [Kari] Scott of New Haven, and Donna [Reynold] Yordy of Thompson’s Station, Tenn; and two brothers DuWayne W. Stauffer of Spencerville and Larry A. [Linda] Stauffer of New Haven. There are 25 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Stauffer; and by a sister-in-law Betty Stauffer.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. on Monday, September 14, 2009, at the Merriam Christian Chapel, 3985 South U. S. 33, Albion, with Pastor Robert F. Yawberg, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Sunday from 2 to 7 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service Monday morning.
Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.

What a shock to pick up the Busco paper and see Marv’s picture. I pray that God will give you the peace that only HE can give at such a time. My prayer will be for that peace to surround you all & you will be assured that Marv graduated to glory! Here for you if you need us for anything.
