Jack and family,

I am the other VISTA roommate that Margo McBride mentions in the previous condolence. We lived together in Idabel, Oklahoma for several months in 1970. When I first arrived, I lived with another VISTA volunteer, and Nancy and Margo shared an apartment nearby. I loved being invited to their place to share a meal that Nancy had a major role in preparing. Her warmth and hospitality were very evident, even all those years ago. She also had the greatest twinkle in her eye which I can still see in my own mind's eye, 38 years later. When my own roommate left, Nancy and Margo gave up a comfortable apartment to move into a tiny, less comfortable house with me. I don't remember Nancy complaining about making the move, and we shared many fun times and a lot of laughter before her VISTA stint ended and she returned home. She was such a caring person, and she really made a difference in the lives she touched. I can tell that this same spirit continued throughout her life. I regret that I did not stay in touch with her well through the years. I was so saddened to hear of her struggle with M.S. and her recent death. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all,

God bless you! I have so many wonderful memories of being in VISTA with Nancy in 1969-'70. We were room mates in two areas in Oklahoma (Ryal and Idabel, OK). She and I worked so hard to gain the confidence of the Creek Indians residents in Ryal and finaly did! I remember many wonderful philospical discussions with her. We were all of 20 at the time, so you can imagine! I also remember going to church with her on Sundays and then heading on down to the PATTY ANN CAFE" in Henreyetta,OK for our weekly lunch of Chef Salads. Nancy and I moved to a new VISTA project in Idabel, OK where we lived and worked with our other VISTA roomie, Barb. Nancy was inspirational to everyone who knew her. She always had a smile on her face. If anyone ever had a solid sense of social concern for others, it was Nancy. Even though we lived across the country from each other I felt a deep friendship with her all these years. I know that she profoundly loved her family (husband, children and grand kids. Jack and children, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Blessings, Love, Peace and Comfort be with you!!!

Jack and Family,

I give my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Although I did not personally know Nancy, I have heard many wonderful comments about her beauty, kind heart, smile, love, and much more. Working with Jack gave me an opportunity to know how special she truly was to all who knew her, as he spoke about her often. Your family's strength, love, and loyalty are admired by all. May the love of family and friends comfort you at this difficult time.

Sincerely,
Jana and Nick Leitch

Family and friends of Nancy Green. Words can never express or even touch the sorrow you must all feel. I am so sorry to hear of your loss and I hope with the good Lord's guidance that you all can get through these trying times. In heaven there will be no more fears, no more tears and no more pain. Nancy will be happy to be with her daughter, mother and father. I will keep you all in my prays. God bless you all.
