Nathan Ronald Castor: 1984 – 2012
Nathan Ronald Castor, 27, formerly of Kendallville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
Nathan was born on March 9, 1984 in Bristol, Pennsylvania, a son of Ronald C. and Connie (Fulk) Castor, and had lived in Kendallville the majority of his lifetime. He attended the Indiana Academy of Math, Science and Humanities at Ball State University during his junior year of high school, graduated from East Noble High School in 2002, and also attended Indiana-Purdue University in Fort Wayne.
He was an expert in the knowledge and care of exotic fish, and had built his own fresh water and salt water aquarium. He was also gifted in computer science, and was an expert in building personalized computers.
The surviving relatives include his parents Ronald and Connie Castor of Kendallville; a sister Miranda (Matthew) Heitz of Clearwater, Fla; a nephew Ezra Heitz; aunts and uncles Joanne (Gus) Etersque, Vincent (Collette) Castor, Maria (Bob) Faight, Kathleen (Scott) Thompson, Annette (Kevin Brannigan) Castor, Christopher (Christine) Makai, Joy (Tom) Rose, and Steve (Teri) Fulk; and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. on Wednesday at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Thomas R. Clothier, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 noon until 8 p. m., or one hour prior to the service Wednesday morning.
Interment will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
For those who wish, memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.

Nathan was a beloved friend of mine. I used to drive him to the doctor in Michigan. I’m so sorry for your loss and I can only image the last few years have been difficult for your family. He was a dear, dear friend of mine and I loved him through all of the struggles. I am heartbroken.
The cat. I helped him get that cat and if you have it and it is a burden to you I would like to offer to take it for you. I’m so so sorry.

It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love. And when it happens the thought of never again being able to talk to, laugh with or hold your loved one can be most difficult to bear. The Bible however holds out a wonderful hope. Until that day arrives remember that God who is the “hearer of prayer” can equip you with the “power beyond what is normal” to go from one day to the next (2 Corinthians 4:7, Psalm 65:2). Nathan’s family, I’m so sorry for your loss! Not only did I loose and amazing person but also my best friend. Nathan always said that the nickname I made up “Natie” was silly and shouldn’t stick, but it stuck.

Nathan will be missed dearly, I loved talking to him at family functions about his fancy coral collection.

At such a devastating time as this it’s so hard to find the right words to express my deepest sorrow and sympathy. I pray that God gives you that amazing peace that passes all understanding and comforts you in your desperation. It was such a shock to hear of Nathan’s passing. In some ways Nate was the younger brother I never had. He was a special guy with a sense of humor that could only be his own.
