Rhonda Lahrman Corson: 1973 – 2009
Rhonda Lahrman Corson, 35, a resident of Fort Wayne, died unexpectedly on Friday evening, February 20, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born on April 7, 1973 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Kenneth D. and Jean (Eiler) Lahrman, and spent her formative years in Eel River Township. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1992, and earned her medical assistant’s degree from the Indiana Business College.
On October 17, 1996 she was married in Fort Wayne to Rodney L. Corson, and was currently employed in the offices of Pediatric Associates, Inc. at Lutheran Hospital. In her leisure time she enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and daughter.
The surviving relatives include her husband Rodney; a daughter Madelyn Claire Corson, age 7; her parents Kenneth and Jean Lahrman of Churubusco; a brother Scott (Kristi) Lahrman of Fort Wayne; her in-laws Thomas and Kathleen Corson of Avilla; her paternal grandparents Dale Lahrman of Pamona Park, Fla., and Beatrice (Harold) Morgan of Columbia City; a former sister-in-law Carmen Lahrman of Fort Wayne; a nephew Thomas John Lahrman; and two nieces Tori Coon and Madison.
She was preceded in death by a brother Thomas J. Lahrman on June 1, 1990; and by her maternal grandfather James Eiler.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Lane Burgland, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p. m., or one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the family plot at Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.

Dear Corson Family,
I am so very sorry to hear about your losss of Rhonda. I never had the pleasure of meeting her face to face but we talked on the phone about 100 times. She helped me so much with my son and was a great advocate for him. I am very sad that I never met her. May God be with you in this time of grief. God Bless!!

I saw the information on Rhonda in Sunday’s paper and was so shocked. I sure hated to see that.
My deepest condolences are with you and the family at this time. May God be with you to help find some peace and comfort in the love of those who care about you.
No one can take away the pain and loss but hopefully you can take comfort in the knowledge that Rhonda is at peace with God.

Kenny & Jean – Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am that you have to live through this nightmare again. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Rhonda was the best friend I have ever had and no one will ever be able to fill the void that is left now that she’s gone. All I can think to do now is to do the best I can to take care of the last gift she was able to give to me in Mike. My prayer is that I never fail in that. I will never forget all of the wonderful memories I have of her and will be forever grateful that you guys were such wonderful “adoptive parents” long before you were to become in-laws.

Rod & Madelyn – Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you guys. Words cannot possibly express how sorry I am for your loss. Rod, I pray for you especially that you will find the strength and comfort you need to not only get you through this time, but also to guide Madelyn through it as well. I can not begin to imagine how overwhelming this must be for you. Please know, that if there is anything I can do to help, all you need to do is call.
Madelyn – I pray that you will always know just how much your mommy loved you. I know she wanted nothing more than to be able to enjoy watching you grow up and I know she is doing just that from Heaven. I know you and your daddy will miss her terribly but always remember that you still have each other. I know nobody can ever take your mommy’s place but if you ever want a mom to talk to, I hope you can call me and I promise I will do my best to tell you all the things I know your mommy would want you to hear.

I just heard today about Rhonda. I am in such shock and feel so badly for you and your family. I don’t know what words to say. I will pray that God holds you all in his hand. So sorry to hear of Rhonda’s passing. I remember how beautiful & happy she was on her wedding day (I took the wedding photo’s) I am praying that you feel God’s comfort in a strong way.

I knew Rhonda through work, and I feel it was a privilege to know her. I spoke with her a few weeks ago, and I so glad the Lord allowed that interaction. She will be missed by all that she touched in her short life.

Rod, Madelyn, Uncle Kenny, & Aunt Jean We are so very sorry and shocked to here of cousin Rhonda’s passing. We pray that God grants each of you the peace that passes all understanding. I regret that we were not able to join the family for the memorial service due to being stationed halfway around the world on Okinawa, Japan, but our thought and prayers are with you all as you go through this very difficult period. Rhonda had a very positive outlook on life and I know she loved each and everyone of you very much.

God always picks the best. There are never enough words to describe how much Rhonda met to me. I always looked up to her as a sister. Know matter what, she was always there with kind words of encouragement or even a shoulder to lean on. Her memory will last a life time. I was blessed to have her as a “sister” in my life. I know now that she’s in Heaven above with a big smile on her face. I know that she lived life to the fullest. And never took anything for granted. She will always be in an angel. I will never forget Rhonda or the memories that she instilled in my life. Madelyn, may you always remember how much your mommy loved you and your daddy. She thought the world of you both. If you ever need anything, or just want to talk, I am always here. Her memory and laughter will last a lightime!! I am very grateful that she interduced Mike to Karly, needless to say she knew what she was doing. Thank you Rhonda! Jean and Ken, There just are not any words that I can find to describe my shock and deepest saddness for you both and your family. I am so very sorry.
