Walter C. Eix: 1923 – 2009
Walter C. Eix, 86, a resident of Fort Wayne, died at 2:59 p. m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He had been in declining health and had been hospitalized for most of the past month.
Mr. Eix was born on May 1, 1923, and spent most of his life in Fort Wayne. He served with the Army during World War II and was married in Fort Wayne on June 7, 1946 to Goldie Moyer.
He had been previously employed at Wayne Pump and at General Electric. He retired from Wayne Home Equipment. In his leisure time he enjoyed his vegetable garden, and growing roses and strawberries. Most importantly he loved and enjoyed his family.
He was a member of the Eel River Baptist Church near Churubusco.
The surviving relatives include the widow Goldie; his children Richard W. (Marsha) Eix, David L. Eix, Stanley A. (Lorrie) Eix, and Laura (Jon) Arvola, all of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday, June 6, at the Eel River Baptist Church, 11022 Carroll Road, with Pastor Kerry Niman, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Friday from 4 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.

We mourn the loss of Walter, however we pray that the time we are apart will not be long until we see each other again in heaven to worship our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. May God grant you His peace in your time of mourning. Love you all. Steph

Goldie and Family, We mourn the loss of Walter in this world right along with you. There never was a better Christian than Walter. We know he is with the Lord in heaven today. I wish we could be there for you. Remember all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called for His purpose. Just trust Him and he will grant you peace Love you all.

This is for Dave: I am sorry for your loss David, your dad was a nice guy and well liked by all that knew him. I don’t know if you remember me Dave but we both worked at DeHaven Chevrolet at the same time many years ago. You and the gang from DeHaven used to come up to Little Crooked Lake where I lived at the time and we would all have a good time.
