William C. “Bill” Wright: 1919 – 2010

Wright, WilliamWilliam C. “Bill” Wright, 91, a resident of Fort Wayne and formerly of Churubusco, died peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Covington Manor Nursing Home in Fort Wayne.

Born on May 8, 1919 in Neodesha, Kansas, he was the son of Carl and Josephine Wright.  He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, and after settling in Fort Wayne worked for 38 years as an employee of General Electric.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rosemarie C. (Magers) Wright of Fort Wayne; and has two surviving sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy C. “Tim” (Kathy) Wright of Fort Wayne and William M. “Mike” Wright of Columbia City.  His only daughter Bonnie (Steve) Balser, died in 2002.  He had four brothers John, Chuck, Melvin, and Lee; and one sister, Margaret, all of whom preceded him in death.  Also surviving are six granddaughters, two grandsons, nine great-granddaughters, nine great-grandsons, and one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

His hobbies consisted of fishing, golf, ND football, and IU basketball.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a. m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 216 N. Main Street, Churubusco, with Father Larry Kramer, the celebrant.

The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Wednesday from 2-4 and from 6-8 p. m.  The Rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment with military graveside rites will be in the Ege Catholic Cemetery, Noble County.

For those who wish, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6324 Constitution Drive, Fort Wayne, IN  46804; or for masses.

    Tim,
    I am sorry to hear of your Father’s passing. I’m sure he is in a better place. My Mother is in Coventry Meadows – she is 93. We have enjoyed them longer than many others have had their parents. I consider it a privilege. I’m sure you did the same.
